Time crunch links

I'm getting kind of busy with school and kids and life in general, but here are some links. First and foremost, if you don't already read Lew Rockwell's page, bookmark it now. That site is a wealth of information, with new essays 6 days a week.

For example, there's this piece, by Christian Light. He points out the distinct difference between anarchists and communists, being that anarchists do not believe in utopia on earth. We acknowledge that there will always be bad people, and we don't try to force a change in human evolution that is unattainable.

-------------------------------------------

What does it take to fire a cop? Via Will Grigg, all it takes is doing the right thing. This is why I hate the "brotherhood" of police officers. I've said before that I would love to believe that there are good cops on the force, but it is painfully clear that the few good cops are systematically a) expelled, or b) converted. The second one is the most prevalent, because its easier to look the other way than to stand up for what's right. Once you willfully allow evil to prevail, you're an accomplice. For 20 years, they tried to convert Regina Tasca. May history view her as the Rosa Parks of law enforcement.

-----------------------------------------

In another 20 years, they'll finally admit he was right all along. Or who knows? Maybe supporting al Qaeda in Syria will turn out better than it did in Afghanistan and Libya. Since they only hate us for our freedoms, surely they must be absolutely loving us now, right?

Who would have thought that in an election year with double digit unemployment, gun walking scandals, illegal war, a ballooning deficit, a federal reserve printing press creating Monopoly money, a murdered ambassador and a cover up so bad, not even the progressive media won't even buy it, who would have thought that the most important issue, the one that affects every American, rich or poor, black or white, democrat or republican, would be the one issue no one is talking about? Sure, we're starting to talk about free speech in the wake of the Muhammad video, but what about the rest of our civil liberties?

How in the world does a top NSA person say the words "turnkey totalitarian state," and besides an article in Wired and on ZeroHedge, the only ones talking about it are the Alex Joneses of the world. A recent poll says that over half of Americans are okay with police drones patrolling our skies. Terrence Moonseed summed it up nicely: "this surveillance will enforce laws you no longer consent to, but by then, it'll be too late to protest, too. And anything you've said, typed or browsed can and will be used against you!"

Well, that's it for now. Take care of yourselves.

Oliver Wendell Holmes: Censorious Fuckstick

First and foremost, Read The Whole Thing. Ken is a damn wolverine when it comes to free speech.

I, like everyone who enjoys free speech, have heard the "shouting fire in a theater" argument ad naseaum. "...there is a good reason why we have an exemption to the free speech protection by the First Amendment when we say you cannot shout 'fire' in a crowded theater," says Arianna Huffingandpuffington, one of the free-speech-for-me-but-not-for-thee cunts who would have loved to live under the tyranny of Woodrow Wilson.

Why Woodrow, you ask? Because the case Holmes was offering his opinion on had to do with the Espionage Act. That's right, the same law that, if it were still in effect, would have seen Huffington jailed during the Bush years, is what is being defended when someone invokes the "fire in a crowded theater" trope.

Now, in the wake of a bunch of barbarians being barbaric, we are hearing "fire in a theater" daily. Someone made a shitty D rate movie that not even the actors had seen, and so we have a scapegoat. Did anyone in the middle east even see this movie? I doubt it. Yet somehow, this obscure YouTube video caused the deaths of an ambassador and other Americans.

No, this definitely wasn't a planned attack, or anything. The administration told us so. It's not like they had advanced warning, and oh yeah, it was the 11th anniversary of 9/11. Surely, it was an opportunistic attack that used the protest as cover.

Except the Libyans say there was no goddam protest. And the alleged leader of the attacks in Libya was released by this administration from his comfy cell at gitmo.

This attack was planned. The administration had warning. The people at the embassy knew they were in danger. The administration did nothing to protect them. The attack happened on the 11th anniversary of 9/11, with protestors shouting "We're all Osama, Obama!" It had nothing to do with a stupid fucking movie. And if it did, if a stupid fucking YouTube video could drive these fucking savages into a murderous rage, well, that's all the more reason to annihilate them out of existence.

But we all know the video isn't the problem. As Ace Of Spades said, "For some reason, I suspect if I were to say something like "I wish the crazed, homicidal Tea Partiers (who haven't killed or hurt anyone) would kill these traitors to the Constitution," their attitudes about violence over free speech would change pretty damn quick." It has become uncomfortably clear that the death of our last remaining freedoms is imminent.

Of course, Ace is wrong in one aspect: If there was a call to violence over these censorious fuckwads, they would only say, "See? We need to limit free speech. After all, Oliver Wendell Holmes, champion of free speech, said you can't yell fire in a crowded theater..."

Unless, of course, there's a fire. That fire was started when Holmes denied Schenck, Debs, and Frohwerk the right to speak. These men were all socialists, and their only crime was speaking out against war and conscription during Fuckrow Cuntson's Espionage Act.

The fire has been set. The exits have been blocked. We're about to burn alive. "Fire." Someone has to say it.

One final note, Rusty at Jawa has some cathartic advice. My favorite lines:
If the Muslim world wishes to join the 21st century, I wish them all the luck in the world.

But if they don't? It's not my problem. I just don't care anymore.

I don't care about nation building in Afghanistan anymore. I don't care about the Muslim Brotherhood being in power in Egypt anymore. Let al Qaeda take over Tunisia. I. Just. Don't. Care.

Now, I could be a complete asshole and say, "well, you could have supported Ron Paul," but I think I'll just be happy that more and more people are waking up to the message of "leave me the fuck alone, and I'll leave you the fuck alone."

Coming soon: Blasphemy Laws!

Oh, if only I were being a hyperbolic alarmist: Dept of inJustice's Perez can't rule out future blasphemy laws. Click that link, and then tremble for your country.

This nation has become a parody of its once great self. Land of the free, we're told. Maybe at one time, we were. Maybe. We certainly aren't anymore. We've allowed ourselves to become complacent with the shackles at our feet. We've dutifully bound our own hands and stitched our own lips.

"We are days away from fundamentally transforming America." - This Fuckin' Guy (as Ace calls him). Mission accomplished, fucker.

I can't stand Romney. Don't agree with him on probably 50-65% of his issues. But This Fuckin Guy has got to go. Some people think he would be a lame duck if wins reelection, but his abuse of Executive Privilege, Executive Orders, and probably the Executive Bathroom, coupled with his administrations blatant disregard for the constitution and the rule of law seems to favor a prediction of tyranny.

Where are people to escape to now?

And here's the proof:

A few blogs back, I talked about the unnecessary laws and how they are being used to arrest anybody they want. Now we're seeing it play out in real time. We saw it with Brandon Raub, and now we're seeing it with "Sam Bacile."

Freedom of speech is on the verge of death, and the supposed defenders of it are all too happy to witness its demise.

Et tu, Brutè?

Everyone please forget that this was an abject failure at the highest rank in government, this was caused by one of you rabble rousing serfs. And since you're all too stupid to understand when you are abusing an inalienable right, we're just going to have to take that right away from you.

Have you had enough yet?

Thursday, September 13, 2012

Bring them home. Now.

With the embassy attacks in Egypt and Libya, the two revolutions supported by this administration, and the What The Fuck?! news that the Marines weren't allowed to use live ammo to protect the embassy, is it time to end our contemptible nation building?

I wish we had a president with balls. Someone who would get on international television and say, "Are you fucking kidding me? This wasn't a government movie, it was a private movie made by people in this country who enjoy the unalienable fucking right to free speech! This is why everyone hates you. Grow a fucking pair an stop being a bunch of pussies. There are 7.4 billion people on this godforsaken rock, chances are, you're not going to agree with all of them. Killing those you don't agree with is not acceptable, and beyond that, we will reign hellfire upon you for your insolence. You have 24 hours as a nation to deliver those responsible. When someone in this country commits violence against a mosque or even an individual Muslim, that person is brought to justice. If you refuse to comply, we will consider this an act of war. 24 hours, and we turn your entire country into a glass factory. Get your fucking shit together. Stop being fucking cavemen. You can be better than this. However, if you choose not to be better than this, than you will cease to exist."

But we don't fight wars to win them anymore. If this country isn't going to be truly imperialist, then we need to get the hell out. If we aren't going to take over these countries and actually run them, and colonize them as the British Empire did, then don't expect backward savages to change. Let them fight amongst themselves.

I'm done policing the world. We don't do it effectively, and it always seems to backfire. We overthrow democracy in Iran and inadvertently create a theocracy. We fund a terrorist organization to fight off the soviets in Afghanistan only to have that same organization orchestrate the most heinous terrorist attack on US soil in history. We prop up a puppet dictatorship in Egypt only to back a revolution against it, so that that revolution can attack our embassy.

We need to fix America before we go forcing the rest of the world to follow our failed example. We don't condemn free speech or apologize for it. We fight for it, and we die for it. The neoconservatives always say of the flag-burning hippies, "you know a soldier died for your right to free speech??"

What now?

How many soldiers are dying for your right to be looted at gun point? How much of our blood and treasure has been spent "spreading democracy," the one thing our founders all agreed was a fucking wretched idea, while our government circumvented our bill of rights?

Do I have to go on again about Stellar Wind? Because I fucking will. It's a base in Utah the size of 5 Capitol buildings, meant to store all your electronic data, text messages, emails, google searches, amazon purchases, blogs, phone calls... If you use any means of modern communication, they will store it. If you have an Xbox Kinect, they can use the camera to spy into your house. Or they can just turn on the camera on your smart phone and see whatever's going on. The new TV's coming out where you can just wave at it or talk to it? They'll be using those, too.

People who jerk off to Orwell should never be in charge of anything.

But back to my main point, bring the troops home. Close down the embassies and fuck the Bush/Obama Doctrine. We refuse to learn from the past and we deserve every ounce of misery that befalls us until we do. Cut every penny of foreign aid, close all the bases and embassies, open up the markets for domestic production, and engage our allies in free trade. Until we have our own house in order, he have no business "spreading democracy" around the globe.

Let those seeking freedom find their way to our shores and send those who would seek to destroy it adrift.

Get. Used. To. It.

4 words. These 4 words have been bugging me for a couple of days, and I've been trying to figure out how to word it, so here's my attempt.

I blog a lot about cops being abusive assholes and how the courts almost always seem to say, "well, he's a cop, so... Let's just say he's innocent." The reason I do, is because of those 4 words: Get used to it.

I don't know about you, but I hear these 4 words a lot, and the whole idea disgusts me because the defeatism it contains at its center. "Politicians are corrupt. Get used to it." "Sure cops can get a little violent sometimes, but their job is dangerous. Get used to it." Pretty soon, (around this time next year) you'll be hearing, "Yeah the government is tracking everything you say and do, but it's for your own good. Get used to it."

I'll never get used to the idea of getting used to it. It doesn't make sense to me, especially in a country founded on the premise of individual liberty.

The problem is, we got used to it. The cops and military got used to just following orders, no matter how reprehensible and contrary to the idea of America they were. That's how Presidents Wilson and Roosevelt were able to round up dissenters and Japanese Americans. We love to say "This is America, it can't happen here," completely neglecting the fact that it already has. Ron Paul gets mocked for not liking the idea of a border fence, because it could potentially be used to keep people in instead of out. Not 6 fucking months later, there's the Expatriation Act, where you have to forfeit a chunk of your already taxed income if you chose to move out of the country.

And we're getting used to it. We got used to an intrusive TSA after 9/11, and we're going to have to get used to them strip searching our 3 year olds in a back room because they might have a bomb. We got used to cops using force to bust bad guys, and now we don't seem to even flinch when they use force against the good guys. We got used to Presidents using drones to kill bad guys over seas, and now we're getting used to Presidents killing American citizens without a trial because fuck you, you don't get to know why.

How much are we willing to get used to? How can the "slippery slope" argument be so ridiculous when you're already 3/4 of the way down the slope?

And, just because it's not really a blog post without a link, here's a brilliant song about Big Brother, via TheAgitator.

And I'll leave you with a quote. "The sky is falling, but no one will lift their eyes to see. The sky is falling, but no one will care as long as it lands overseas." - Dustin Kensrue

The Obama Religion

Is now accepting Fast Offerings.

For those of you who aren't very religious, a Fast Offering is when you skip a meal, and donate the money you would have spent on the meal to the Church (Mormons practice this monthly).

Now, you should do that for Dear Leader. Honestly, we should probably get used to eating less...

Let's repeal the 19th amendment!!

I'm kidding, of course. While I'm not a republican, I am a capitalist, so I fall on the right side of the political spectrum. And I, for thousands, am tired of the "war on women" bullshit.

And I say bullshit, because that's what it is, bullshit. They can't say war on abortion, because not every woman agrees with abortion. They can't call it a war on birth control, because no one is actively trying to ban birth control. They can't call it a war on rape victims, because of Bill and Hillary.

Stouty Weasel gets it. And lets be honest, these fucking jackholes get it, too. They know the right doesn't hate women. This is how pathetically fucking desperate they are.

And to the "liberal" "feminists," we're on to you; you don't want women to think individually for themselves, you want them to conform to the way you think. You don't want equal rights, you want majority rights. If you had your way, the penis-carriers would be enslaved for all eternity.

That's all for now. I'm not gonna waste anymore of my time on this war. I really only blogged this to link weasel.
