Cops shoot suspected psychic

Because when you pound on someone's door at 1:30 in the morning without announcing yourselves as police officers, by golly, that peasant should have known they were cops anyway.

Did I mention they were at the wrong house? That seems important. So, they go to the wrong house in the middle of the night, pound on the wrong door, fail to identify themselves, and open fire on an innocent citizen for not knowing they were cops.
"It's just a bizarre set of circumstances. The bottom line is, you point a gun at a deputy sheriff or police office (sic), you're going to get shot," LT John Herrell said.

Here's an idea, fucker: if you pound on a door in the middle of the night without announcing yourselves as cops, expect to be staring down the business end of a frightened homeowner's shotgun, capice?

But no, he should have turned his psychic powers on and then he would have known, "oh, these kind police officers must have the wrong address. No need for this pistol. Surely, this couldn't be a home invasion at this time of night..."
In what civilization is this not considered murder?
