The man shot by Washington County tactical officers in New Columbia Tuesday night had grabbed a gun because he thought intruders were on his property after his wife had checked on their barking dog in their backyard and saw a stranger in dark clothing.
Alberto Flores-Haro, according to relatives and witnesses, did not know that the men surrounding his home and neighborhood Tuesday night were authorities approaching to raid a residence just a few doors down from his home in the 9500 block of North Woolsey Avenue.
"There was someone in our backyard, and my mom called our stepdad," said Daniel Ibarra. "He told me to go upstairs and get the gun."

As far as I can tell, the only mistake this guy made was not shooting first. I used to support police, thinking that most of them probably really want to help serve and protect. However, that isn't even their fucking motto anymore. What do police in your town do? They patrol and make sure you obey. Fail to submit to their requests, and they'll only taze you if you're lucky. Most cops don't even know the laws that they're supposed to enforce, let alone whether or not they have a constitutional authority to enforce them.
When was the last time you saw a cop, and thought, "oh thank heavens, the police are here!" Don't worry, I'll wait. Even if you can think of a time, you can think of 50 more recent occasions of sweating bullets at the sight of a police car pulling into your rear view.
Police aren't loyal to their community, their state, or their country. They're loyal to their badges, and to their union. I've heard police claim that they don't have quotas to fill. If that's true, then the whole lot of them are power hungry corrupt brutes. Personally, I'd rather believe an inept government was forcing them to harass us.
They've convinced me that they enjoy instilling fear into the populace.
Vox Day has been great at blogging about events of police misconduct. He's the one that came up with the title of this post. By his count, we're winning. NWA was right. Fuck the police.
I will not comply.
